The location of the gîte is perfect for exploring Calvados and Normandy. From the stunning beauty of the cliffs of Etretat to the historic beaches of Omaha Beach, you'll explore a region where nature meets fascinating history.
Before you come, make sure you keep an eye out for events and festivals taking place in these towns!
Deauville-Trouville
Deauville will charm you with its casino and boutiques, while Trouville invites you to sample a platter of fresh seafood at the fish market, an experience not to be missed! Afterwards, enjoy a lovely stroll along the seafront to round off this magnificent day!

Étretat
Whatever the weather, Etretat is well worth a visit. Whether you like walking, golf or swimming, this iconic natural jewel of Normandy is well worth a visit! Note, however, that in high season it can be difficult to find a parking space.

Cabourg & Beuvron en Auge
The tour starts in Beuvron-en-Auge, one of the most beautiful villages in France, with its half-timbered houses and pretty shops. Continue on to Cabourg to discover the Villa de la Belle Époque, where a statue of Marcel Proust stands at the entrance. Finish the day with a stroll along the seafront and lunch on the terrace of the casino restaurant.

Le Havre
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town is renowned for its modern architecture by Auguste Perret. Don't miss the Saint-Joseph church and its lantern tower, the MuMa (André Malraux Museum of Modern Art), which houses a remarkable collection of Impressionist art, and a stroll along the seafront to enjoy the beach and the maritime atmosphere.

Jumieges Abbey

The Bayeux Tapestry
A medieval masterpiece listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of William the Conqueror and the conquest of England in 1066, in almost 70 metres of embroidery. Its captivating staging makes it both a cultural and entertaining visit, suitable for all ages.

Caen Memorial
Considered one of the greatest European museums dedicated to the 20thᵉ century, the Caen Memorial retraces the history of the Second World War, from the Normandy Landings to the Cold War. An essential place of remembrance and transmission, it also offers educational tours accessible to children and teenagers.

The D-Day landing beaches
A powerful symbol of 20th-century history, the D-Day landing beaches bear witness to 6 June 1944 and the liberation of Europe. Omaha Beach, Utah Beach and Arromanches offer both impressive landscapes and unmissable places of remembrance, with museums, military cemeteries and vestiges still visible.
